Love

“Surely Love is a wonderful thing. It is more precious than emeralds, and dearer than fine opals. Pearls and pomegranates cannot buy it, nor is it set forth in the marketplace. It may not be purchased of the merchants, for can it be weighed out in the balance for gold.”
Oscar Wilde “The Nightingale and the Rose”

Oscar Wilde was one of the most flowery yet truthful writers of his time. Wilde wrote the short story of “The Nightingale and the Rose” as an allegory to the story of Christ and his love and sacrifice for humanity. Whether you believe in Christ or not there is one lesson you can take away from this story. That love, real love, means sacrifice, time, effort and understanding and as the little Nightingale says; “Surely Love is a wonderful thing. It is more precious than emeralds, and dearer than fine opals. Pearls and pomegranates cannot buy it, nor is it set forth in the marketplace.” – Oscar Wilde

Until next time when we pick up with more literally talk I remain respectfully,
